Although there were no significant gains  in students’ overall math and English & Language Arts (ELA) proficiency, D.C. For nearly a decade, The Pursue Foundation, in partnership with youth recreation specialist Marc Williams, has collected dorm and school materials for first-generation college students from Ward 7 and Ward 8. While cohorts of years past had nearly 25 students, the newest cohort has 10 first-generation college students.
