Great article, very informative. However it appears to the reader, by the red arrow and statement in the rectangle box, that the photo is that of Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman physician in the U.S.
This is a photo of Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first African American woman to earn a professional nursing license in the U.S. In 1908 she co-founded the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses (NACGN).
