NAACP President Derrick Johnson and Missouri State Conference President Nimrod Chapel Jr. have called on Missouri’s Republican Gov. Mike Parson to halt the execution of Marcellus Williams, a Black man on death row who has consistently maintained his innocence, due to the lack of physical evidence linking him to the crime scene and racial bias during the original trial.
